What you see in this gif above is the 3Doodler, the first pen to allow you to doodle in 3-Dimensions. The way it works is similar to a hot glue gun, except instead of giant silicone pieces being stuffed into the back, its ABS plastic, which melts at a higher temperature and immediately cools.
My housemate saw this and just flat out said “that isn’t real” but it is! and you too can have one, they’re on Kickstarter (click on the Gif to go to their page), already reached their goal in mere hours, but you can snag one of these for 75 dollars before it goes up to the msrp price when they begin production in the fall. Its perhaps one of the cooler things I’ve seen in a while, and I’d have thought about backing it except of course I function in 3D art because I can’t draw :P.
But its a neat idea, I always feel like I’m living in the future when I see things like this, and I only get more and more excited.

Its a touch screen with tactile buttons that come and go as you like! I’m always really excited when things I thought were far off in the future are much closer than I expected.
It’ll take about 30 minutes to complete, not sure what I feel after finishing the game/experiment, But I think I’m happy to have finished it. Cool concept. Originally saw this on The Verge. Just click on the image above to play.
Of course you don’t understand 3G, you’re running on it now, but apple has brainwashed you into thinking its called “4G” even though it’s barely faster than normal HSPA. Oh Siri, for a computer algorithm, you can be quite dumb.
The US House of Representatives has just passed the Cyber Intelligence Sharing and Protection Act (HR 3523) by a vote of 248 to 168.
Shit guys. White House Officials have already stated issues with CISPA, and there is a chance this will be vetoed. Just did the math and the vote doesn’t hold a super majority of 2/3, so unless the bill is changed or congressmen change their minds, Its really up to Obama whether this passes or not. Please show that you’re a progressive president and Veto. I understand the importance of Cyber Security (My IR paper is basically about it) but this is hasty and controversial.
Tumblr has been searching for a way to earn a profit off of its ever growing userbase for a while, and now the company has announced that advertising will join its recently launched post highlighting service as a revenue source. The ads will be featured on Tumblr’s Radar — a small box on the dashboard that’s currently used to highlight interesting and popular posts — which CEO David Karp says will give advertisers 120 million impressions each day.
Click on the photo to see the full article. Can’t say that I didn’t expect this though. I was planning on buying a premium theme too hoping that would give them some money so they didn’t have to resort to ads. A part of me thinks that somehow the internet could survive without ads, but alas, this is a blow to that hope. Although, its much better than what twitter did, they’re just using up that tiny radar spot, so I can ignore it easily.

Collusion is a Chrome extension that allows you to see what sites are tracking you. Its not the sites that I visit that scare me from their tracking, because I generally take that as something I have to accept when I visit their site. Its the ones that are still tracking me, even though I haven’t visited them at all. surveillance is spooky.
1. I’m still awake
2. I’m waking up early
3. I’m watching useless youtube videos when I promised myself I wouldn’t just for today
4. Apparently I get 2.7 MB down and .68 MB up on my wifi, but my faux 4g gets me 4.88 MB down and 2.49 MB up
5. I’m testing my internet speeds at 2:44 AM
6. I’m going to go to sleep now
7. the point above me does make sense, so it should be stricken off the list.
So a bomb dropped this week because Android users can now use fancy filters and Instagram like their iOS friends. People are also getting really cocky about it too. I actually saw people stating that now Instagram has gone to shit because the common android user can use it.
Um, get over yourselves. Instagram in general isn’t my favorite service because all it is is a fancy filter. and a social network. put into one. Its literally nothing else than that. I take photos, and don’t use filters, because I don’t feel the need to distort the picture when presenting it. I can later if I wish to, but the initial photo can look however I want it to.
The OS that you use doesn’t really matter. Honestly, I want to use an android sometimes just because of how much you can tweak it and make other things play nice with it. Currently my iPhone is jailbroken, so I can have a little fun (or run Android if i was patient enough) but meh, its not as accessible as Android. But as a person who likes to say he understand iOS pretty well, I find it ridiculous for anyone to think that they’re somehow superior to those who have Android devices. Fanboys are stupid fanboys, go find a message board somewhere on 4chan to argue on.
Ok, So apparently I use up a lot of my time with the internet and stuff. I don’t think I should live without it, but I think I’ve gotten to the point to where its messing with a lot of things, and I don’t like it. So although I technically can’t completely let go of everything, due to school work/possible emergencies, I’m having a system set up for me to start on starting this monday.
I don’t think people should abandon the internet, or that its something thats only hurting our society instead of helping it. But I think that doing this will help me instead of hurt me. I’m taking my camcorder with me, but thats not a method of communication, and I don’t think that’ll really corrupt much.
I once went a month without eating meat, not because I think eating meat is wrong, although I do have issues with the food industry, but because my dependence on it was sickening, and I barely ate much that wasn’t meat. Afterwards I was ok with salad when I previously didn’t touch the stuff, and I think its a great experience that I’ll probably repeat again. Just like when I fast for Ramadan every year, not because I think thats the best way to live, but because I think I need to understand hunger and understand eating, just like I need to understand what there is besides constantly consuming content on the internet, searching for some useless interview on Youtube, or doing something else wasteful. I need to spend my time more thoughtfully, and I think this is my step in the right direction.
Do you want to join me?
So, I got invited to a Press Conference for this organization that wants to change how the nomination process will work in the United States.

Basically, this is not a political party, but an avenue for normal Americans to cast votes for anyone who runs through this method to be one of the three, not two, nominees for the US presidency. It all works on the internet on the website I posted above. Its a revolutionary idea that really does put politics further into the 21st century, and in all honesty results in a more democratic process.
